August 22, 2007 High Strangeness at Jeremy’s Place

On August 22 2007 Jeremy invited Rick and Robb to stop by his place. He told me that they were just acquaintances at the time of their visit. They wanted to see some of the UFO videos that Jeremy had filmed around Sacramento. Little did they know that were about to witness a UFO event that exhibited what is known in ufology as “high strangeness.”

Jeremy called me about the event as soon as it had occurred. Later at a local MUFON meeting I interviewed Robb and Rick together about the sighting at Jeremy’s. Robb told me that he was a physicist. He employed Rick at his business where they worked to produce alternative energy devices.

After watching a few videos, sometime between eight and nine o’clock at night Jeremy took them outside on to the balcony to do some sky watching. The weather conditions were clear and warm. They first viewed some moving lights that Jeremy informed them were satellites. Robb told me that he and Rick then saw two strange lights flying close together. Both men reported that they became quite excited as these silent orbs- approached them.

Jeremy however was not impressed. He alerted them to the fact that what they were witnessing was the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station. He pointed to the exact spot where the objects would dim as they moved into the Earth’s shadow. Rick and Robb told me that in their excitement they initially doubted Jeremy. However when the lights disappeared at the exact location that he had predicted, they realized the error. Although they did scientific-technical work, neither was particularly experienced as sky watchers. They stated that they were impressed with Jeremy’s knowledge of the sky.

The two co-workers discussed their sightings and Jeremy repeatedly urged them to focus on the sky. While they were chatting Jeremy reported seeing a UFO. It appeared as a solitary white light that had suddenly winked on, then according to Jeremy it hovered silently for a few seconds. Finally it sped off across the sky at a very high rate of speed. Jeremy reported saying to his guests, “You all need to look up at the sky! You just missed one!”

Instead of complying with his request they continued talking and according to Jeremy a second UFO similar to the first silently flashed into sight. Exasperated he said, “You better stop talking and look up!”

At this point in time the high strangeness event took place. Jeremy reported seeing a bright green colored oval UFO in the northeast. It was located about 60 degrees up from the horizon. The object silently moved upwards and to the east. There were two black dots in a straight line seen on either side of the UFO. Jeremy recalls pointing and shouting, “There is one, right there!”

Both Robb and Rick told me that as Jeremy pointed towards the sky suddenly an extremely bright flash of light lit up the entire balcony. Robb said it lasted just a fraction of a second and seemed to be centered on Jeremy. The brightness for a moment turned night into day and reflected back off the glass sliding doors. Jeremy told me he did not notice the flash. Instead he focused on the green UFO that by his estimate was the size of a dime seen at arm’s length. As it speed off it left behind a green trail. Rick did not see the UFO, but Robb reported looking to the northeast where the green trail was still visible for a few seconds. This strange event is one of many multiply witnessed UFO experiences associated with Jeremy Ray during the years he lived in Sacramento.
